Indianapolis, Indiana: January 20, 2010 - Thiele Heating & Air Conditioning encourages Indianapolis area homeowners to save money on a new heater or A/C system with the Indiana Energy Star Appliance Rebate Program, which will begin February 1, 2010.

The program, which was recently approved by the U.S. Department of Energy, will provide Hoosier homeowners with rebates of:

• $500.00 for Energy Star rated furnaces, heaters or air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
   
• $1,000.00 on geothermal heat pump purchases.
   

The program is available to Indiana residents who own a single family home.

		To be eligible for the rebate, an Energy Star rated Furnace, Boiler, HVAC system, or Geothermal Heat Pump must be purchased and installed AFTER February 1, 2010. The rebates will be processed and paid on a first-come, first-served basis.   The rebate program, administered by the Indiana Office of Energy Development (OED,) will be available until the $6.1M in allocated funds are exhausted.   The OED will launch a web site on or before February 1, where interested Indiana homeowners will be able to get information and download rebate forms. After it is launched, Energy.IN.gov will have a direct link to the rebate web site. Consumers can start there to get to the rebate site.

The rebate forms must be faxed, emailed or mailed in with appropriate documentation, including proof of purchase of an eligible Energy Star rated product and proof of installation. Once processed, consumers should expect their rebate check, or a letter stating why their rebate claim was rejected, within 3 weeks.
