To get an idea of what is involved in a Thiele home inspection, we present an overview of how the process normally occurs:

Step 3: Recommendations and Estimate

We report our findings to the homeowner and, based on our inspection, tests and analyses we make our recommendations as to the brand, type and size of the system that is right for your home.

We will also discuss additional products to help improve the comfort and safety of your family that can be incorporated into your new ventilation system, including:

  • Air filtration / cleaning units, such as electronic air cleaners, media filters, and other options.

Keep in mind that the air inside a sealed home is generally dirtier and more polluted than outside air.

Click to see the brands of heating and cooling systems we trust.
This Electronic Air Cleaner from Honeywell, one of our trusted manufacturers,  is an advanced and easy-to-use, whole-house solution that traps and filters up to 98% of pollutants from the air passing through your heating & cooling system
  • Humidification system options to help prevent moisture levels from getting too low during the winter.

    • While a humidity level of 30 – 35% is optimal, during the winter, heated air can be as low as 10%, or lower,
      humidity.

    • Humidity levels that are too low can cause:

      • Dry, itchy skin

      • Sinus cavity and other health problems

      • Wood to become dry and brittle

      • Rapid heat loss that increases operating costs
      • Heated air at the correct humidity levels will:

        • Retain heat longer, which means the heating system does not have to work as hard

        • Create a more comfortable, healthier living environment.

  • Anti-bacterial / anti-viral UV air purifiers and sanitizing systems – an good option for families with young children to help reduce the number of illnesses.

  • Fresh air ventilation with heat recovery – allows fresh air to enter the home without the addition or reduction of heat

  • Programmable thermostats and thermidostats that can control the humidity level as well as the temperature.

  • Zoning options – adding separate thermostats and automatic baffle system to an existing system to create
individual environment “zones” within the house, (for example, the main floor would be zone 1, the upstairs bed-
rooms zone 2 and the basement as zone 3).

    • Zoning allows for much more temperature control throughout the house, and would run about a third
of the cost of installing a second system.

    • Zoning can reduce the size of the system required, improve system efficiency and reduce the operating costs

We then provide a detailed estimate of the cost of the job. We try to include the cost of all services and materials needed to
complete the project in our estimate.

Barring any unexpected surprises (such as an undetected hidden water leak inside a wall,) the price we quote is the price you pay.
